CityWide Golf in conjunction with Salmon Creek offers a favorable environment, providing opportunity for accomplishment, success and challenge to special needs athletes.
Gary Tatar is a certified Special Olympics Golf Coach and applies the training and competition program developed by the PGA in conjunction with the Special Olympics.
This comprehensive program offers direction in golf goal setting and objectives.
This program is offered year round and includes the essential components of swing fundamentals and physical conditioning sensitive to those with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

Next Step Golf League
The Next Step Golf League is offered to those that play at the independent level. Play nine hole with Gary present to assist with golf course management strategy.
League opportunities are offered on Thursday evenings (alternate shot) and Saturday mornings (9 hole individual play). Both leagues are integrated.
Alternate Shot League Cost:
Includes green fees for 2 players, instruction at the range prior to play, and on course instruction.
League plays on 6 Thursday nights: July 12, 19, 26 and August 2, 9, 16.
Individual Play League Cost:
Includes green fees, instruction at the range prior to play, and on course instruction.
Special Olympics 2017 Events Schedule
August 26th – Individual played at Salmon Creek Country Club 8:30am tee off starts.
August 26th – Skills played at Salmon Creek Country Club 9:00am tee off starts.
August 27th – Alternate shot played at Winding Creek Golf Club Shot Gun 2pm registration. 2:15pm open ceremony and tee off. (alternate shot)

GOLF THE GAME OF A LIFETIME
The program cost is
My Mission as a PGA and DSP Professional is to support your existing desired outcomes through the learning experience of the game of golf. My years of teaching in both fields brings an innate ability to encourage growth in both Intellectual and developmental stature. I work to instill in the athletes I serve confidence and ability to represent themselves with authority.
The game of golf is one of the most interactive games your athlete can play. I incorporate all aspects in my teaching to support goals of professionalism, consciousness, social interaction, good health, safety, and contribution.
Golf offers five levels of involvement that will keep your athlete engaged and provide an enjoyable learning experience. The five levels are: golf swing basics, specific skills, playing the game, and competition as an individual or team.
Starting at level two you are welcome to designate an advocate to participate in this instruction free of charge.
- This program is offered year round.
- The private golf Instruction is uniquely specific to your athlete while incorporating your desires outcomes.
- Sessions run eight weeks and are approximately two hours long.
- Equipment is not required until levels four and five.
- Instruction location is offered on both the Westside and Eastside taking your location in consideration.
